Tammy D. Roberson, a resident of Youngstown, FL passed away on Friday, November 6, 2009 at her residence. She was 46.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.Tammy was born October 22, 1963 in Dale County and resided the early years of her life in Ozark. She was a 1981 graduate of Carroll High School and attended Enterprise State Junior College for 2 years on a Basketball Scholarship. She later attended the University of South Alabama and graduated with honors with a degree in physical education. She resided in Youngstown, FL for the past 15 years and was employed with the Children’s Home Society as a managing supervisor with Children’s Social Services. Tammy was an avid Alabama football fan, a NASCAR Dale Jr. enthusiast, loved to attend and participate in the Mobile Mardi Gras, and spending the Christmas Holidays with her mother. She was known for her dedication and work ethic and was a super aunt to Hunter. Survivors include her mother Mary Wood Hibbs of Dothan; a sister Sandy Roberson of Dothan; nephew Hunter Roberson of Dothan; aunts and uncles, Barbara Bass of Napier Field, Lomax Glover Brenda of Ozark, Henry Ward Virginia of Newton, Bill Ward Lou of Napier Field; cousins, Laura Dudley of Dothan, Linda Floyd of Dothan; several beloved friends and co-workers including Gail Mountain of Youngstown, FL.Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter Roberson, Paul Baker, Henry Ward, Kenny Ward, Billy Ward and Jason Ward.
