Ted Husted of Dothan passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in Montgomery.
Memorial services will be held 2 pm Friday, November 16, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with his brother-in-law, Lou Denny officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1pm until 2pm Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Faith Rescue Missions, Dothan, Alabama.
Ted was born in Toledo, Ohio where he lived the early years of his life. He was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, Toledo, Ohio and Troy State University of Dothan. Ted was a veteran of the Vietnam War stationed in Germany. He later served with the United States Air Force Reserve and the Air National Guard for over 20 years prior to his retirement. Ted was currently working with many local hotels as a night auditor. Ted considered himself a man of God who enjoyed the ministries and music of several local churches. Anyone that knew Ted will feel his loss, love and affection. He will be missed.
Survivors include, his son, Bobby Hale Sheilah Griffin; his daughters, Beth Hale, Cate Husted Trammel, Kimberly David Witt; grandchildren, Taylor Flowers, Cameron Trammel, Winston Witt and Weston Witt; his sisters, Sally Husted, Caroline Lou Denny.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents Edward Day Husted, Sr. and Catherine McManus Husted, his brother, Timothy Husted.
