Thomas Kenneth Bass

Thomas Kenneth Bass, 64, of Newville died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at his residence.

Services will be held 2pm Friday, March 4, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home with Bro. Robbie Anderson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.Mr. Bass was born August 12, 1946 in Pelham, GA and lived the early part of his life there. He joined the U.S. Navy and served for two tours in Vietnam. Following his military service he went to Albany Technical School and received a technical degree in refrigeration. He joined the Air National Guard and served as a refrigeration technician for over 19 years until his medical retirement. Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his father Loys Bass; a sister Sandra Taylor; and a granddaughter Ashley Jordan Bass.Survivors include his wife Brenda Bass of Newville; a son Tony Bass and his wife Jennifer of Taylor; a daughter Stephanie Smith of Headland; 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Bass, Kaitlin Bass, and Tyler Bass; his mother Audrey Bass of Pelham, GA; his sisters, Linda Gore of Worth County, GA, Delores Curles and her husband W.P. of Worth County, GA, Dorothy Ann Libby and her husband Ray of Putney, GA, Faye Sealy of Meigs, GA, and Debra Godwin and her husband Eddie of Pelham, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
