Thomas “Tom” Bledsoe, 66, of Dothan passed away Friday, December 16, 2011 in Rochester, MN.
rnFuneral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, of Dothan. Following the services there will be a celebration of Tom’s life held at the Dothan Country Club. A private graveside service will be at Sunset Memorial Park. rnIn lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, “Building Fund” 1380 West Main Street, Dothan, Alabama or The Shriners Hospital, 2001 South Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131. rnMr. Bledsoe was born April 21, 1945 and was raised in New Florence, Missouri. He resided in Eufaula, Alabama prior to moving to Dothan in 1977. Mr. Bledsoe was in the mining business in Barbour and Henry Counties. He founded Kenworth of Dothan in 1977. He owned and operated the Kenworth and Freightliner dealerships until his retirement in 2000. Upon his retirement, he has remained active in mining, transportation, and appraisal services. Mr. Bledsoe was an active member of First United Methodist Church. He was a 32rd Degree Mason, a Shriner and a Jester. Survivors include, his wife, Gelane Bledsoe, Dothan; three daughters, Kama Mike Owen Bledsoe, Dothan, Amanda Rad Register, Dothan, and Tammy Jason Angeloff, Dothan; his grandchildren, Isabelle Owen, Will Owen, Allie Kate Register, Ford Register, J. Thomas and Tanner Angeloff; his brother, Jim Doris Bledsoe, Eufaula; nieces and nephews, Jane Ann Bonbrake, Macon, GA, Billy Bledsoe, Eufaula, Jammie Fabick, St. Louis MO; seventeen great nieces and nephews.
