At the time of his passing, he resided in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his dear and beloved wife of 64 years, Merlene Holley Dunn, his father, Daniel Edgar Dunn, his mother, Bonnie Belle Wise Dunn, his brother, Alfred Dunn, and his sister, Merle Dunn Holley.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte Ann and Jack Dickinson of Knoxville, TN; his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Myrna Dunn of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Jim and Rachel Napier of Prattville, AL, Jennifer Dunn of Dallas, TX, Ryan and Stephanie Dunn of Brooklyn, NY, and Jack Ross Dickinson III of Knoxville, TN; great-grandchildren, Hunter Napier of Prattville, AL, Eden K. Mr. Dunn served his country faithfully in World War II, at the Battle of the Bulge, and for 27 years thereafter. According to his own words, “I am a military man, always have been, always will be,” and in keeping with that, he was laid to rest in the uniform of a United States Air Force Chief Master Sergeant, bearing many ribbons, including one evidencing the award of a Bronze Star. Though Mr. Dunn is now in the presence of our Heavenly Father, his body will be laid to rest next to the body of our beloved mother at Sunset Memorial Park, in Midland City, Alabama, where visitation will be from 11-1:00 p.m. on February 28, 2015, followed immediately by a memorial service and burial.

Rather than donating flowers, the family requests that those interested in doing so make a contribution in the honor and memory of our father to the Wounded Warrior Project, by calling 1-877-832-6997 or going to www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
