Thomas Victor Turner, known affectionately as Tom, left this world on April 13, 2024, at the age of 62. Born on the first day of 1962 in Mobile, Alabama, he was the beloved baby brother to his family, and throughout his life, he carried the joy and curiosity often attributed to the youngest child. Tom passed away peacefully in Dothan, Alabama, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family.

Tom is survived by his sisters, Victoria L. Turner and Dena T. (John) Batchelor; his Uncle and Aunt, Jim and Annette Horner; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Ashley, Blake, Lee (Jessica), and Bradley Batchelor. He was also a great-uncle to Autumn and Bethany.

Despite facing the challenges of living with diabetes, which led to his disability, Tom never let his condition define him or dampen his adventurous spirit. He was a man who found joy and purpose in the relationships he built and the simple pleasures of life. His analytical mind loved to engage in debates, dissecting arguments with precision and a twinkle in his eye.

Tom was a great brother who loved to share his knowledge and experiences with those he held dear. His passion for fishing was well known, especially at the jetties, where he would spend hours not just casting lines but also weaving tales of the one that got away. He had a knack for making every fish story an adventure, and his laughter was as infectious as his tales were enthralling.

The words that best describe Tom are loving, adventurous, and analytical. He lived a life marked by a deep love for his family, a boundless sense of adventure in his pursuit of the perfect catch, and an analytical mind that found joy in understanding the world around him. His presence was a comfort, his stories a delight, and his love a constant.

Tom's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and wisdom. He was a man who understood the importance of family, the thrill of a well-told story, and the satisfaction of a life well-lived. As we bid farewell to Tom, we celebrate a life that, though not without its challenges, was rich with experiences and relationships that were treasured deeply.

As we lay Tom to rest, we take solace in knowing that he is now free from the constraints of his earthly vessel, embarking on the greatest adventure of all. May his soul find the peace and joy that he brought to so many during his time with us. Tom will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us.
