Thomas Dowling Walker

Thomas Dowling Walker, age 54, of Newton passed away February 4, 2014 at home.

Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday February 8, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Smith and Thomas Harrison officiating.  Burial will be at Newton City Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Walker was born April 28 1959 in Ozark and the son of the late Billy Eugene Walker and Hazel Derotha Mathis. Dowling was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and Nascar racing. In addition to his mother and father, Dowling was preceded in death by a stepmother Vicey Walker; step-brother, Allen Sullivant.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years Glenda Faye Walker; sisters, Mary Treadwell Cochran of Dothan and Trudy Bill Compton of Ozark; daughters, Rachel Brownell and April Matt Glover; grandchildren, Amber Denise Everson, Jacob Tyler Everson, Kyle Matthew and Alyssa Nichole Glover; step brother, Eddie Sullivant; several nieces and nephews; host of relatives and friends.
