Tommie Lee Stewart

September 3, 1922 — October 10, 2014

Tommie Lee Stewart, 92, a resident of Dothan passed away Friday, October 10, 2014 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at First Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon K. Marshall officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday at Sunset Funeral Home.

Tommie was born September 3, 1922 in Pocahontas, Mississippi and lived the early part of his life there. He moved to Gary, Indiana and joined the U.S. Army for several years serving his country in WWII and the Korean War. He was later employed with the Ford Motor Company for over 20 years while living in Detroit, Michigan until his retirement. He moved to Dothan in 1977 and was employed with the Houston County Sheriff's Department and later served as a Court Bailiff. Tommie was a devoted member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Dothan where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.

Survivors include his wife Lillie M. Stewart; daughters, Jacquelyn M. David Reynolds-Anderson and Ruby D. Reginald Clark; grandchildren, Dawn-Monique A. Charles Burton, Kenyetta Stewart, Carl D. Yolanda Reynolds, James H. Lorraine Bell II, and Brittani A. Stewart; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a host of friends and relatives.

Serving as pallbearers will be members of the First Missionary Baptist Church Deacons and Sunday School Class.
