Tonya Mclean

Tonya Rosalee McLean of Headland, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at a Birmingham hospital. She was 74.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ms. McLean was born on May 28, 1943 in Marion, Indiana and spent the early part of her life there. She moved to Headland in 1957 and has resided there for the past 60 years. She was employed with Twitchell as an inspector for over 30 years retiring in 2007. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, working puzzles, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Ms. McLean attended New Light Church.

Survivors include her son, Charlie McGriff; her daughter, Toni (Tony) Cunningham; her grandchildren, Chad and Justin Cunningham, Jacob, Rachel, and Tori Garrett, Nathan and Alexandra McGriff, Cheyenne Ingram and Marie, Frank, and Rebecca Garrett; several great-grandchildren; her brothers, Danny Rife and Joe Rife; her sister, Helen Hosier; several nieces and nephews.
