Trula G. Penny Thompson

Trula G. “Penny” Thompson, a resident of Dothan passed away March 22, 2010 at Wesley Manor. She was 83.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Williams officiating. Entombment will follow at 9:00 am on Friday, March 26, 2010 in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to Covenant Hospice, 2855 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, AL, 36301.Mrs. Thompson was born on May 23, 1926 in Newport, TN and lived there the early years of her life. She attended college at East Tennessee State and received a degree in business. While at Camp Stoneman, CA she met William and they were married on February 2, 1952. They resided in Waynesville, NC prior to moving to Dothan in 1974. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother George Gregory.Survivors include her husband William “Bill” Thompson of Dothan; a son Col. Billy D. Thompson and his wife Julie of Tucson, AZ; a daughter Susan Trawick and her husband Richard of Dothan; 4 grandchildren, Austin & Abby Thompson, Brittany & Blake McDaniel. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
