Viney Marie Scott

Viney Marie Scott, a resident of Ozark, AL passed away at her home on Saturday, April 10, 2021. She was 66.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 15, 2021 in Sunset Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Sunset Memorial Park directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.

Viney was born in Jackson, Michigan on October 16, 1954 to Edward Clyde Smith Sr and Nina Monk (Peter Joe). She was last employed as an elementary school teacher at Higher Ground Academy before retiring to spend time with her great grandchildren. Viney was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She found joy in spending time with the people she loved. She was known for always making sure that everyone always had something to eat. Viney will be deeply missed, and her kind, gentle spirit will always be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Charles Joe Edward (Amber) Gallion; her daughter, Karen (James) Turner; her six grandchildren, Corey (Lindsay), Clara, Alyssa, Casey, Allie and Kayla; her four great grandchildren; her siblings, Edward Clyde (Dennessa) Smith, Jake Smith, Vonda McDaniel, Anthony (Pam) Smith, Billy (Debbie) Smith, Rosie Elmore, Tonya (Eddie) Wesley as well as several other nieces and nephews.
