Virgil E. Fenn

Virgil E. Fenn, a resident of Dothan passed away Saturday July 29, 2017 at Westside Terrace. He was 88.

Funeral services will be held at 4 pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm prior to the service.

Mr. Fenn was born on May 13, 1929 in Enterprise, Alabama and moved to Houston County at an early age. He was a 1948 graduate of Dothan High School. Mr. Fenn served in the United States Army Air Corp and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Following his military service, he returned to Dothan and was employed with Wheeless Airport as a flight instructor, chief pilot, and served as Vice President. He later worked with Piper Aircraft Company as an international salesman. Mr. Fenn also worked with Dothan Jet Center handling their maintenance and parts department for several years. In 2012 he retired from the Alabama Aviation College in Ozark where he worked with the tools and parts department. He was an aviation enthusiast and a loving family man. Mr. Fenn was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Martha Camp Fenn; his son and his wife, Virgil Earl Fenn, Jr. and Lori and their children, Heather and Ellec Corley, Kaitlyn Fenn, and Miranda and Chris Bullard; his daughter, Melinda Fenn and her children, Natalie and Scott Soloman, Ryan and Megan Watson, and Whitney Watson; and his 7 great-grandchildren.
