Virginia Wilson, a beacon of laughter and love, passed away on October 27, 2024, after a brief illness. Born on February 18, 1963, Virginia's life was a testament to the power of joy, kindness, and the simple pleasures of life. She embraced the world with a heart full of love and left it with a legacy of warmth and cherished memories.
Virginia was the loving matriarch of a bustling family, a homemaker whose door was always open and whose kitchen was the heart of the home. Her sons, Tommy Gordon and his wife Jasmine, along with James Gordon and his fiancé Kayli Alice, were her pride and joy. Virginia's spirit of familial love extended to her siblings, Willie James Wilson, Jr., King Edward Wilson, and John Lee Wilson, her sisters, Christine Wilson and Janice Mae Britt, along with Janice's lifelong best friend William Britt. Her life was further enriched by a host of nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Virginia. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Louis Frank Wilson and LeRoy Wilson, who she missed dearly and often fondly remembered in her stories.
Virginia's work ethic was as strong as her sense of humor. She spent many days in the fields, driving a tractor with skill and determination. But it was her role as a homemaker that truly defined her. Virginia's home was a place of warmth and laughter, filled with the aroma of her famous baked hams and the sight of her beautifully tended garden. Her love for growing flowers was only matched by her love for her cats and her fondness for Taz from Warner Brothers, whose mischievous spirit mirrored her own.
Always quick with a joke, Virginia believed in keeping life lighthearted. Her favorite saying, "Be breezy," was a mantra she lived by and encouraged others to adopt. It was this philosophy that made her the most loving person you could ever meet, someone who could always be counted on for a laugh or a comforting hug. Her humor was infectious, and she had an uncanny ability to find joy in the everyday.
Virginia's cooking was legendary among family and friends. She delighted in preparing meals, especially for gatherings where her baked hams were the centerpiece of a table surrounded by love and laughter. Her culinary skills were a true expression of her generous spirit, and those who had the pleasure of joining her for a meal felt like the most important people in the world.
Her garden was a reflection of her inner beauty—a place where the most beautiful flowers bloomed under her careful tending. It was in her garden that Virginia found peace and solace, and she shared this sanctuary with all who wished to experience its splendor.
Virginia Wilson will be remembered as the embodiment of love and laughter. Her unwavering kindness, her infectious humor, and her boundless love for her family and friends have left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She was, indeed, "all heart," and her memory will continue to inspire and comfort those she left behind. Virginia's life was a journey filled with joy, generosity, and the simple beauty of loving and being loved. Her legacy is one of laughter, love, and the precious moments shared with a remarkable woman who made the world a brighter place.
