Vito C. Veneziano, 84, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 6, 2016.
Vito was born in New York, lived in Hollywood, Florida, and moved to Dothan, Alabama in 1995. He is preceded in death by his wife Maria Rose of 50 years, and his parents Charles and Angelina Veneziano.
Survivors include his wife Rita; children, Charles Susan Veneziano, Dr. Peter Barbara Veneziano, and Catherine Mike Veneziano-Dickey; sister, Marion Pedalino; 6 grandchildren, MaryAnn Drew Entel, Jessica Veneziano, Amy Jeffery Anderson, Peter Veneziano, Jr., Anthony Vanessa Veneziano, and Giovanni Veneziano; 3 great-grandchildren, Angelina Marie Veneziano, Elizabeth Grace Garich, and Lorenzo Veneziano.
Vito enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved wood crafting, photography, and painting. He also loved to sing karaoke with his wife Rita. He was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Columba and was a Knight in the Knights of Columbus. During his membership at St. Columba he helped to start the annual St. Joseph's Feast Day. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran and proudly served his country.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at St. Columba Catholic Church with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Columba Catholic Church.
