Vona Adams

Vona Adams, a resident of Dothan, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. She was 92. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 4 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kyle Gatlin officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church. Mrs. Adams was born on February 23, 1926 in Argentine, Kansas and lived her early years there. She was a 1944 graduate of Argentine High School. After graduation, she attended Kansas State University and received her degree in Home Economics. She taught school in Overland Park, Kansas. In 1984, she moved to Dothan and had resided there for the past 33 years. Mrs. Adams loved to paint and was an avid reader. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her grandson, Clayton Noon. Survivors include her husband, Howard Adams; her children, Mike (Teresa)Adams, Curtis Adams and Kimberly (Rodney) Bolin; her grandchildren, Heather (Carey) Drake, Lauren (Nick) Gilchrist and Rachel Sasser; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
