Walter W. Roberts

Walter W. Roberts, 88, of Daleville, AL, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 at his residence.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Peacock officiating. Military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Melanie Roberts Chisholm Band Scholarship Fund, c/o Debra Roberts, 5505 Sun Harbor, Apt 151, Panama City, FL, 32401.

Mr. Roberts was born May 21, 1927 in Cairo, Ohio. He served for 20 years in the military, retired in 1965 and made Daleville his home. He was a WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War era Veteran and a Master Mason. He attended the Daleville Methodist Church and was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Wilma R. Roberts, brothers, Larry and Harold, sisters, Jean and Helen, and a granddaughter, Melanie Roberts Chisholm.

Survivors include his daughters, Anne Roberts and Carla Jimmy Chambers, both of Daleville; his son, William C. Debra Roberts of Panama City, FL; his sister, Mary Lou Joe Gay of Arlington, TX; his grandchildren, Tony Tracey Roberts, Timothy Betsy Roberts, Lori Bill Yeargan, Robby Linda Chambers, and Jeri Lee Helton; 9 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice of Enterprise for their care and comfort as well as special friends Georgia Cox and Ali Dosland.
