Wanda Denise Drinkwater, a resident of Ashford, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 in a local hospital. She was 59 years old.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Union Springs Freewill Baptist Church with Brother Terry Drinkwater officiating. Burial will follow in Union Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5-7 pm.
Wanda was born on August 21, 1962 in Greenville, Alabama and lived there the early years of her life. She was fun loving with a witty sense of humor and a quick and ready smile. Wanda had a very generous nature and a giving heart.
Wanda was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Mae Jones, her daughter, Katie Nell Drinkwater, and by her three sisters, Barbara Helms, Deborah Marrone, and Donna McCraney.
Survivors include her loving husband of 35 years, Jerome Kenneth Drinkwater; her daughter, Makala (Dustin) Reagan; her stepchildren, Kevin (Angela) Drinkwater, Jason Drinkwater, and Sherrie (David) Pate; her granddaughter, Ella Kate Reagan; her three step-grandchildren, Autumn Drinkwater, Brandon Pate, and Shelby Pate; her father, Herman Jones; her brother, Charles (Ronda) Jones; her five sisters, Janie Swearingen, Joyce (Tim) Stewart, Joan Hopkins, Janice (Glen) Lewis, and Kim Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Dustin Reagan, Bobby Hopkins, Johnny Reagan, Kevin Drinkwater, Junyous Sellers, and Jason Drinkwater.
