Warren Lee Manire

March 10, 1941 — December 27, 2017

Warren Lee Manire, a resident of Ozark, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at a local hospital. He was 76.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 11 am in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 am on the day of the service.

Mr. Manire was born March 10, 1941 in Cook County Illinois and lived there the early years of his life. He graduated from Proviso High School before joining the U.S. Army. Mr. Manire a veteran of the Vietnam War and he served two tours, where he received two Purple Hearts. He also served one tour in the Korean War and was stationed in numerous over seas assignments. Mr. Manire had over 20 years of military service prior to his retirement in 1983. He was later employed with DynCorp/AFS Fort Rucker in management until he retired in 2004. Mr. Manire enjoyed being outdoors, manicuring his yard, fishing and camping with his family and friends. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Alabama “Roll Tide” fan.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Paul Manire; son, Kevin (Jennifer) Manire; daughter, Michelle Manire; step-son, Stephen (Ashleigh) McCarthy; step-daughter, Heather (Lee) Burns; grandchildren, Novaleigh McCarthy, Parker Burns, Preston Mages, Hannah Mages and Amber Manire; a brother, Denny (Cindy) Manire; sisters, Patricia (Lee) Davis and Sandra Manire.
