Rev. Wiley Gibson, 70, of Midland City passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church in Headland, AL with Rev. Delvick McKay officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Wiley was born September 20, 1942 in Barbour County, Alabama and moved to the Midland City area at an early age. He was a lifelong resident of Midland City and served on the Midland City Council. Wiley worked at Pemco for over 44 years until his retirement in 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife Ernestine Gibson; his parents Alvin and Katie Gibson; a daughter Shauntina Gibson; and brothers and sisters, Alvin Gibson, David Gibson, Mary Jefferson, and Katie Mable.
Survivors include his daughters, Shaunda Gibson of Midland City, and Debra McClain of Midland City; 3 grandchildren, Robert McClain, Orlando, FL, Jeremy McClain, and Joshua Gibson; a brother Willie James Gibson of Dothan; sisters, Robbie May of Birmingham and Lena Ludgood of Midland City; several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws also survive.
