William D. Cook, Jr., a resident of Brewton, AL and formerly of Midland City, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2009 at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital in Brewton. He was 80.rnFuneral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow with military honors in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, April 19 at the funeral home.rnMr. Cook resided in Midland City for the past twenty years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and proudly served with the United States Army. Mr. Cook was a loving father who cherished his family and friends.rnSurvivors include his daughter, Debbie Guy and her husband, Scott; a son, Wade Griffin; adopted daughter, Kim Jackson; granddaughter, Kimberly Lowery and her husband John; grandson’s Brannon Pitts and his wife, Rachel, Chase Cummings and Chris Sheiffield; great grandson, Dallas Lowery; great granddaughter, Ashlynn Pitts; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Cook and Doris Pruitt; a brother-in-law, Bob Griffin; several nieces and nephews that he loved and adored.
