William Donald Falgout

Rev. William Donald "Don" Falgout, 70, of Dothan passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 at a local hospital.

rnA Celebration of Life will be 2 pm Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Grandstaff and Rev. Ken Farley officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Monday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN, 37214, or to Columbia Baptist Ministry Center, 1306 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, AL, 36301. rnDon was born August 28, 1941 in Tuscaloosa, AL and lived the early part of his life there. He was a graduate of Tuscaloosa High School and Livingston University. He later graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. The first church he served as pastor was Ecoline Baptist Church in 1963. He then served at Little Sandy Baptist Church, 1st Baptist Church Sandusky, and the 66th Street Baptist Church. Don moved to Dothan from Birmingham in 1993 and was the administrator at Baptist Village and Hutto Tower until his retirement in June 2010. Following his retirement he has served as pastor at South Lena Baptist Church. Don was an author having published two books and he was also the past president of the Alabama Baptist Pastors Conference. He was preceded in death by his parents M.J. Falgout and Ludie Mae Kirk Falgout; and a sister Theresa Avery. rnSurvivors include his wife Sheila M. Falgout of Dothan; sons, David Angela Falgout of Indian Land, SC, and Chris Allyson Falgout of Ashford, AL; grandsons, Bentley Falgout and Jacob Cameron "J.C." Falgout; a brother Sonny Ann Falgout of Northport, AL; several nieces and nephews also survive. rnPallbearers will be Craig Karrh, Matt Henderson, Chad Hixson, Mike Johnson, Sidney Barger, Jeff Kizzah, Randy Mathews, and Greg Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be current members of the South Lena Baptist Church the staff of Baptist Village. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and staff of 6 East and CCU at Southeast Alabama Medical Center for the loving care shown to us during the past several days. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
