William “Bill” Korda, Iii

July 21, 1948 — August 18, 2021

William "Bill" Korda, III, a resident of Ozark, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. He was 73 years old.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10-11 am. Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.donate3.cancer.org, or to Encompass Health-Hospice, 3379 W. Main St., Suite 2, Dothan, AL 36305.

Bill was born on July 21, 1948 in Zanesville, Ohio and lived there the early years of his life. After graduating from high school, Bill would become certified in Automotive Service. He joined the US Army and proudly served from March of 1968 until March of 1988. Bill had over 30 years of experience in aviation, having worked with Dyncorp and Petroleum Helicopter Company, Inc., as an aircraft mechanic, technical inspector, and various supervisory positions. Bill was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Korda was preceded in death by his parents, William and Eleanor Korda, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sam Sun "Sue Me" Korda; his stepdaughter, Kathy (Mark) Bloom of San Jose, California; his two grandsons, Matt (Alyssa) Bloom, San Jose, CA, and Zack Bloom, San Jose, CA; his four siblings, Tom (Dee) Korda, Durham, NC, Michele (Robert) Watson, Henderson, KY, Karen (Orville) Coulter, Lehigh Acres, FL, and Teresa Adkins, Lima, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
