William Jordan Ogburn, Sr., a resident of Dothan passed away of natural causes on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center at the age of 76. His family was with him as he went to be with his heavenly Father.Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Friday, April 23, 2010 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Noles officiating. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Thursday, April 22, 2010.Mr. Ogburn or “Jordan” was born on July 10, 1933 in Coffee County and lived the early years of his life at Center Ridge, Alabama. Serving his country in the U.S. Army at Schweinfurt, Germany from 1953-1954 was an honor for him. He lived in Enterprise, Alabama much of his adult life. Mr. Ogburn was employed by Martin Colley Drugs in Enterprise until 1979 when he moved his family to Dothan, Alabama where he began a very successful career as the manager at Electrolux of Dothan. He very much enjoyed fishing, playing golf and watching his children and grandchildren play youth and high school sports.Jordan was preceded in death by his parents Carlton Lee Ogburn and Lessie Ogburn Beckham and his brother, C.L.
