William Jack Smith

William Jack Smith, a resident of Pensacola, FL and formerly of Avon, AL passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola. He was 73.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Griner officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the funeral home.Mr. Smith was born on August 16, 1935 in Napier Field, AL and resided there the early part of his life. He was a paint contractor as a self employed painter all of his life until his retirement in 1996. Mr. Smith resided most of his life in Avon and was a member of the Berean Baptist Church.Survivors include his daughters, Jackie Driver and her husband Levon of Pensacola, FL, Vickey Jean Posey of Greenville, SC, Wendy Gail Allendorf and her husband Mark of Daytona Beach, FL, Sandy Thomson of Ashford; a son William Randall Smith of Pensacola, FL; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers; 1 sister; several nieces and nephews also survive.Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home, 334 983-6604, is in charge of arrangements.
