Willie E. Daniels, of Midland City, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 in Atlanta, GA following an extended illness. He was 68.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Park with the Rev. Moses Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at Sunset.
Mr. Daniels was preceded in death by his son, John Daniels and by two brothers, Sylvester Daniels and Jack Daniels, II.
Mr. Daniels was born on September 24, 1940 in Dale County to Jack and Tommie Lee Daniels. He resided in Midland City all of his life. Mr. Daniels was employed with AAA Cooper for 18 years and by Dolly Madison and Coca-Cola Bottling prior to his retirement in 1994. He joined Turner Chapel Church in Midland City at an early age and later was a member of Bethel AME Church in Pinckard, AL where he served as Steward and Treasurer.
Survivors include his wife, Annie R. Daniels, Midland City; his sons, Steve Daniels, James Edward Daniels both of Jonesboro, GA, Tyrone Daniels of Midland City; his daughter, Ruthie Ann Daniels of Jonesboro, GA; his sister and brother-in-law, Earnestine and Rev. Johnny C. Saffold of Dothan; his 9 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; his sister-in-law, Arrie Mae Daniels of Midland City; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Jimmy Lee “Sporty” also survive.
