Willie Alice Johnson

Willie Alice Johnson, of Midland City, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at her residence. She was 84.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Friday, October 16, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time Friday. Mrs. Johnson was born November 7, 1924 in Houston County and she resided the early years of her life in Dothan. She resided in Dover, Vermont for over thirty years prior to moving to Midland City in 1974. Mrs. Johnson was employed with the Boy’s Detention Center in Ozark for several years. She was a member of Rainbow Meadows Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Ron Johnson and his wife Cathy, Midland City; five grandchildren, Heather Grantham, Adam Johnson, Timothy Williams, Jr., Carl Allen and Cody Allen; two great-grandchildren, Riley Grantham and Kieran Grantham; two sisters, Betty Shirley, South Carolina and Linnie Carpenter, Dothan; several nieces and nephews.
