Willie Edward Lewis

Willie Edward Lewis, a resident of Dothan, AL, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 24, 2022 at his residence. He was 65 years old.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Junior Carol officiating. Military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Interment will take place in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.

Willie was born on January 10, 1957. He enjoyed life to the fullest! His interests included playing musical instruments, singing and riding his motorcycle. Willie was a kind man with a huge heart and so much love to give. His smile could light up any room he entered. Willie proudly served his country in the Army. He enlisted in 1980 and received the Army Service Ribbon, Expert Badge with M-16 Rifle Bar, Drivers Badge and the Aircraft Crewman Badge. Willie was also a Storage Specialist. He was honorably discharged in 1983.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Everlene Streeter Reeves (GA); his father, Emanuel Lewis (AL); brother, Bobby Reeves; and sister, Glenda Reeves Smith.

Willie leaves to cherish his memories to his life partner, Rosie Magwood; children, Jeremy Lewis, Tasha Copeland, Leroy Nelson and Billy Clark, all residents of Alabama; sisters, Evelyn Carol (James) Walker, New Jersey, Pearl Clark of Alabama, Betty Reeves of Delaware, Diane Reeves Brown of Delaware and Nancy E.R. Green of Georgia; brothers, James "Jesse" (Audrey) Ingram of Alabama, Joenathan Reeves of Alabama and Robert E. Reeves of Delaware; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family members; and his good friend, Cleveland Thomas.
