Wilna Granny Whitten

Wilna “Granny” Eva Whitten, 74, a resident of Daleville, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Westside Terrace.

rnFuneral services will be held at 10 am on Monday, July 18, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 7 until 8 pm. rnMs. Whitten was born on June 23, 1937 in Groveton, Texas and resided there most of her life until moving to Daleville in 1994. She was a CNA in Enterprise Nursing Home from 1994 until 2002 when she retired. Ms. Whitten was a member of Newton Assembly of God Church and the Daleville Senior Citizens. rnSurvivors include her son, Robert Rita Wallace, Canton, GA; her five daughters, Connie Terry Howard, Daleville, AL, Margaret Jimmy Fairman, Colorado, Anna Robbie Phillips, Augusta, GA, Phyllis David Oakley, Houston, TX, and Betty Jon Paul Higginbotham, Merryville, LA; her 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; her brother, Buddy Whitten, Texas; her sister, Margie Owens, Texas; several nieces and nephews also survive. Burial Date: January 1, 1970
