Zelda Ward Jones

August 11, 1929 — October 1, 2018

Zelda Ward Jones, a resident of Jacksonville, FL and formerly of Dothan passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at her residence. She was 89 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raymond Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Jones was born August 11, 1929 in Dothan, AL and resided here most of her life. She was a homemaker and the widow of Johnny H. Jones who preceded her in death in 2001. She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved to cook for her family and also enjoyed crocheting. Mrs. Jones was a former long-time member of Berean Baptist Church in Dothan as well as the Thomasville Road Baptist Church in Tallahassee, FL. She loved the Lord with all of her heart. She loved her husband and family. She was a true prayer warrior. We are thankful for the Godly children she raised and the legacy she left behind. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Bob Powell, grandson, Wes Powell, and a great-grandson, Brady Kinder. Survivors include her son, Wesley (Marsha) Jones; daughters, Juliene Lancto and Sallie Powell; grandchildren, Tiffany (Chris) Williamson, Bethany (Chris) Lee, Ashley (Shelby) Thorsen, Ryan (Tiffany) Jones, Amanda (Robert) Kinder, Kim (Taylor) Harnden, and Lukas (Ana) Lancto; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Williamson, Chris Lee, Shelby Thorsen, Taylor Harnden, Robert Kinder and Ryan Jones. Burial Date October 6, 2018
