Hugh Albert Griffith died at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife, Fran Gappa; his daughter, Wendy Perry; his two sisters, Kayla Dearmas and Terry Griffith; his two grandchildren, Camille and Griffin; his stepchildren, Lonnie Gappa and Melissa Gappa (Josh) Chandler; his step grandchildren, Ashley (Joshua) Herrington, Lindsay (Ryan) Phillips, Alexa and Ella Zierdt; and a gaggle of other relations. Any flowers or other contributions should be given to a charity of your choice.
In parting, he chose these words from Emily Dickinson to best describe his final trip:
"Because I could not stop for Death,
He kindly stopped for me;
The carriage held but just ourselves
And Immortality.
We slowly drove, he knew no haste,
And I had put away
My labour, and my leisure too,
For his civility."
Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust; forever flowing in the waters of the world.
