Selena Andress (Andress) Bond

Selena Andress Bond, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2023, in her hometown of Dothan, Alabama. Born on February 7, 1959, in Dothan, Selena was known for her loving nature, her faith-filled spirit, and her gentle demeanor.

Selena was a senior member of Madrid Methodist Church for many years. Selena was also proud alumna of Rehobeth High School, where she discovered her passion for floristry. This passion blossomed into a successful career when she opened Weddings by Selena, a cherished local business that brought joy to countless weddings and events over the years. Selena's creativity and dedication to her craft were evident in every arrangement she created, and her warm, welcoming personality made every client feel like family.

Beyond her professional achievements, Selena was a woman of many interests. She was an avid gardener, nature enthusiast and always up for an adventure. In her later years, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as cooking, preserving, and canning, and tending to her beautiful garden. However, nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her family but mostly her grandchildren, who were the center of her world. They lovingly called her "Gaga".

Selena is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Ricky Bond, and their three loving children, Lindsey Meadows (Richard), Candace Johnston (Drew), and Katie Thomley (Holden). She was a loving grandmother to Addison Thomley (12), Henry Meadows (11), Bond Meadows (8), Mack Johnston (7), Sadie-Grace Thomley (6), Marie Johnston (6), and Wade Meadows (5). Selena also leaves behind her brothers, John David Andress, Jimmy Andress, and Thomas Andress. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Isaac Andress and Lena V. Andress.

Selena's legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Her family will remember her as a loving wife, positive nurturing mother and fun-loving Gaga, always ready with a comforting word and a contagious smile. Her friends will recall her unwavering faith and her gentle spirit, which brought peace and comfort to all who knew her. Her clients will remember the joy she brought to their celebrations with her beautiful floral arrangements.

In her 64 years, Selena lived a life filled with love, faith, and service to others. She touched countless lives with her kindness and generosity, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Selena Andress Bond was a beacon of love and faith in her community. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, the strength of faith, and the importance of family. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved.

A private family celebration of Selena's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to be made to the Child Advocacy Center, an organization that was cherished by Selena.
